RED is proud to announce plans for New Year’s Eve 2018. For the first time ever, experience RED’s Omakase in its true form as our chefs collaborate on this once in a life time New Year’s Eve dinner. Each course is hand selected and prepared by our chefs from a menu specially designed by Sushi Chef / Owner Jack Yip and Executive Chef Jed Spink. In collaboration, the two have created a menu to satisfy all senses. Please check back here and keep updated via our Facebook Page.

Reservations, Cancellation Policy, & Walk-Ins
Seatings for the Omakase are available at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. Reservations may be made over the phone at 608-294-1234. Reservations may be made for groups of 2 to 7 guests. We will be unable to accommodate larger groups. A credit card is required to hold your reservation. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any guests who no-show, no-call will forfeit their reservations spot and be subject to a charge of $25 per guest.
We will be accepting walk-ins for our sushi bar and cocktail bar, which will be serving a limited a la carte menu. Each will be honored on a first come, first serve basis.
Allergens, Dietary Restrictions, and Other Dining Concerns
An Omakase style dinner is best suited for those with an open mind, an interest in trying new food items, and the palate to take on all flavors. If you are a picky eater, have a severe allergy, or maximum dietary restrictions such as a vegan or vegetarian based diet, the Omakase may not be the best choice for you, however we still encourage you to dine with us as we have flexible options. With prior notice, we can offer you our a la carte menu. Group of 2-7 with a few dietary restrictions? Not a problem. As long as some guests are enjoying the Omakase, we are still able to reserve a table seat for you. For any guests not interested in the Omakase, we recommend dining with us as a walk-in at our sushi bar or cocktail bar. Please see the host upon arrival. These seats are first come first serve. Should they be occupied at the time of your arrival, there may be a wait time. You may call about 10 minutes before you arrive and we can let you know if there is a wait or not.
Substitutions may not be available for Omakase. Please review the menu once it is posted to determine your needs. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail us at [email protected] or call 608-294-1234. If you would like to leave a message on the manager line you may dial #3 during open hours. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
Dress Code
There is no dress code for New Year’s Eve, however we do encourage you to dress for the celebration if you feel inclined.
Parking
Parking is available street side and is free to the public on Sundays/Holidays. Enjoying the evening and partaking in drinking? Monday is considered a holiday with free street parking, so we encourage guests to leave their vehicles and find safe way home. We also recommend the Overture Center Parking Ramp directly behind us on 300 W. Dayton. This ramp is typically $1/per hour, however it may have special rates for the holiday.
FAQ: Dietary Restrictions, Reservation Inquiries, and Other Information
Please read this list as your concern may already be addressed.
We have a group where a few guests have restrictions, but most are enjoying the Omakase. Can we still make a reservation?
We can absolutely reserve you a table.
We are both vegan/have dietary restrictions, but we want to save a table.
Understandable, however those tables are reserved for diners enjoying the Omakase. We would recommend coming in as a walk-in where you can enjoy a full service and our limited a la carte menu at our cocktail bar or sushi bar. Those are first come, first served, and available any time in the evening. They may fill up quickly, though. We will let you know if there is a wait for any of these seats.
I am Vegan/Vegetarian/have Celiac, can I enjoy the Omakase?
Omakase dinner is not available for those with maximum dietary restrictions, as there are not substitutions for the courses that would give you the full benefit of $85 for 9 courses. We will have a limited a la carte menu available and some substitutions can be made to those items if needed.
I saw the menu and it looks like I can have most of the items, am I able to make substitutions?
We will not be able to do substitutions, however you may be able to omit a few things. We will need to know specifically what your allergens or restrictions are, we can speak with the chef and give you a call back.
I’m a picky eater, is Omakase going to be good for me?
We recommend coming to Omakase dinner with an open mind, a ready palate, and the willingness to try all new things. You may find that you will not get full enjoyment from Omakase with out these.
How big are the courses?
Courses are a good size, between 1-2 bites. They do lean towards the smaller side since there are 9 courses. This is so you are able to enjoy each course.
It’s just me and my partner. May we share an Omakase?
Guests may not split or share an Omakase. We recommend one guest to enjoy an Omakase and the other to order off our a la carte menu if they are unsure about partaking in the 9 course meal.
What if we are running late for our reservation?
Being on time for your reservation will guarantee you the best experience, as all guests will be enjoying each course at the same time. However, please call if you are running late so we can hold your table for you. If you will be more than 30 minutes late, we would recommend seeing if we can bump you to the later seating. We could also move you to our sushi bar or the next available open table if that is okay with you.
Are you doing anything special for New Year’s?
We will have DJ M. White spinning tunes through out the night and we will be enjoying a champagne toast at Midnight along with a countdown. We do not have televisions in the restaurant, so we will not be able to watch the ball drop in Times Square.
Is this kid friendly?
If you have an adventurous child who loves eating exotic and new food items, you may absolutely bring them along. The a la carte menu will also be available to them should their parents being enjoying dinner. However, we will not be making items off the a la carte menu in order to focus on the Omakase seatings, so please come prepared.
I would like to request a server.
We will make note that you are interested in name of server, however due to the busy-ness of the evening we may not be able to connect you with them. We will do our absolute best.
